Once upon a wedding…
While I have no plans to get married any time soon, I have noticed that weddings seem to be in vogue lately. After Stylist Magazine’s recent article, ‘Is Marriage Back in Fashion?’, they’ve also added a wedding blog to their website. And it seems that wedding planning is now all over the Internet – sites like Pinterest are letting people showcase their ideas like never before. In tribute to St David’s Day last week, I feel I should also mention new Welsh wedding blog Cwtch the Bride, which has stunned even me, the non-bride, with its beautiful photography. (My future sister-in-law also happens to contribute posts about her upcoming wedding, but that’s not the only reason I’m plugging it, honest!)
On a more literary note, I’ve discovered some book-themed weddings which while eccentric do, I must admit, look pretty fabulous. Take a look at this Alice in Wonderland themed wedding, for example, or these favour boxes which take the phrase ‘fairy-tale wedding’ to a new level:
With our recent publication of Bitter Greens, I’m now imagining a cool, slightly Gothic Rapunzel-themed wedding, and getting slightly too excited for someone who’s not that big on marriage. Is there anyone out there who’s planning/has attended a fantastically bookish wedding? I think we’d like to hear from you…

Thanks for the mention 🙂
I decided far too late in the day that I wanted an Alice in Wonderland theme to actually make it happen but I’m still searching for a flamingo croquet set just in case!
We are having a literary wedding. I have found wonderful ideas online to incorporate books and book decor into the wedding and reception. We both love books, we own close to 1500 now and we only been together just over 2 years, so it is the perfect theme for us. 🙂
