Sunday Papers Live
I don’t often read the weekend papers, though when I do, proper time is devoted to it and easily assembled food must be on tap. In my mind it’s a treat similar to wallowing in a bath for a hour or more.
Which is why the approach of Sunday Papers Live appeals to me on a number of levels. The day is split into sections, along the lines of the sections of your average Sunday paper, with an expert speaker, performer or similar taking the stage for up to 30 minutes. World and UK news, sport, culture, travel and more all get their turn. When you feel like you need to let off a little steam from the debate and information supplied, you have the option of a few walks. The last ‘edition’ gave punters the choice of a philosophy walk and, at the other end of the scale, a Bullshit London tour of Regents Park and Primrose Hill giving you the opportunity to pick up plenty of factually inaccurate, comedic nonsense.
If all this is sounding a little strenuous for both body and mind, there is the promise of a a proper sunday roast from chef Tom Hunt.
Does it sound like your kind of thing? They are taking bookings for the fourth edition on 1st June.
