A Big Yum for Dim Sum at Yauatcha
(This is why I am not employed as a writer for tabloid headlines…)
Last night I went for dinner at Yauatcha – a dim sum restaurant in Soho (on the corner of Berwick St and Broadwick St). I’d never been before but can now recommend it to anyone who loves dim sum. The selection to choose from was huge and there was no dud amongst any of the dishes we ordered. Their website isn’t working at the moment, but for more info and map click here.
I can highly recommend the venison parcels, the pork buns, the jasmine tea smoked ribs (if you like your meat) and the fruit & tea cocktails (if you don’t fancy alcohol). We stuffed ourselves silly as per usual, but had we had room for desert the selection of cakes on the top floor – works of art in themselves – looked amazing. (Geez, I think I should be doing their PR or getting a commission for this.)
The only downer was when they said they needed our table so effectively forced us to ask for the bill. In their defense we had been there for 3 hours, but still, I’m half-italian and no one should put a time-limit on a meal.

It’s only the other day that I was in London and wondering where a good place for dim sum could be found. Not had good dim sum since a business trip to Hong Kong in 1991, so thanks for posting that!
Just realised by clicking on your link that I walked pretty close by… Drat. But then, I didn’t have the time last week. Next time…
