An Animated Bookshelf
I assume anyone following this blog will agree that bookshops can be pretty amazing places. And in the best of them, you could easily believe that something magical happens when the lights are switched off and the daytime human occupants leave.
DIrector Spike Jonze (of Being John Malcovich and Jackass: The Movie fame) has taken that concept and run with it big time in this short stop-motion film which uses Parisian bookshop Shakespeare & Co as the backdrop for some ‘interesting’ goings on the bookshelves. How a few pieces of felt sewn together manages to pull off a ‘because I’m worth it’ hair flick is beyond me but worthy of checking out.
