Athletes, Seinfeld and Friday Laughs
I found out this week that I have failed to get any Olympic tickets. Ok, I did go for some very popular heats (swimming finals, gymnastic finals, athletics etc) but I figured I’d at least get a good shot at getting some to table tennis. But no. Nada.
So, whilst I have failed in my mission to watch great athletes meet their ultimate goals next year, tomorrow I plan to succeed in my own athletic feat with my first ever sprint-Triathlon at Blenheim Palace (raising money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer). This means an early night for me in preparation for the race, and whilst I am actually really looking forward to tomorrow’s challenge, there is one small disappointment. I will be missing the one chance to see Jerry Seinfeld at the Oz.
If any of you have the chance to go (tickets still available) then go! I have watched and re-watched the video and own the CD for his previous live show I’m Telling you For the Last Time, and still now, after practically knowing the monologue off by heart, it still cracks me up. You can watch his other show from Part 1 – 8 on YouTube and I highly recommend that you do if you want a good laugh! But to give you a taste, I leave you with one of my many favourite bits. (And I’ll do my best to get my nose across the finish line tomorrow before anyone else. Oh, come on, I can dream of getting on the podium can’t I?)
If anyone is going to the show tonight, let me know what you thought of it!
