Our poor earth…

First it’s Armageddon (luckily Bruce Willis sacrificed himself for us then), then we got threatened by another meteor in Deep Impact (President Morgan Freeman smoothed that one over to an extent. Well, his soothing voice kept the panic to a minimum anyway). Will Smith has saved us from everything including aliens, giant metallic spiders etc. And then let’s not forget the evil villains whose plans Bond is forever thwarting.

So, nasty humans and natural disasters aside, we’re fine, right? Well, obviously, no.

If Stephenie Meyer, Rachel Caine et al have taught us anything it’s that there’s alway a thirsty vampire lurking around every corner. Although strangely, they don’t seem so keen on world domination… Or perhaps they’re just not that good at it. We’ve been fighting them for centuries now and always seem to keep the bloodsuckers at bay.

But now it seems zombies are afoot and they seem rather more frightening…

So it’s only sensible we take some precautions. Luckily I’ve come across Max Brooks’ The Zombie Survival Guide, and if you happen to be going to the Edinburgh Festival, the How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse Show looks worth a visit…
