Last week we were somewhat disappointed that the wonderful debut One Foot Wrong, by Sophia Laguna hadn’t made the Commonwealth Writer’s Prize list.  Well, this week we are thrilled to hear that the book has made the longlist for the coveted Miles Franklin Literary Award – one of the most prestigious literary awards in Australia. It is amongst just ten novels vying for the prize and the shortlist will be announced on the 16th April. Wonderful to see others are recognising the brilliance of this novel and we’ll be keeping our fingers and toes crossed that it will make the cut. For anyone who wants to know what the fuss is about, the book will hit bookshops on the 6th April.
