“We’re all going on a literary holiday…”
Are you eagerly anticipating a summer holiday soon? If you’re like me, your idea of heaven is doing a lot of not very much on a beach somewhere with a very good supply of reading material and cocktails.
But, while they sound far more active than my usual getaway, I admit to being tempted by Foyles’ newly launched literary tours.
There’s one international jaunt planned to the Jaipur Literary Festival, in the company of Marcel Theroux, but the ones that caught my eye were those inspired by Dylan Thomas, the Brontës and Roald Dahl. The one or two day tours are intended to allow readers to immerse themselves in great literary locations and follow in the footsteps of these greats.
Which of these outings take your fancy, or where would you recommend Foyles add to their expedition lists?
